Mature applicants (26 years or older), who do not posses any of the academic qualification set out in 1 to 5 above may be considered for admission, provided they possess relevant technical qualifications and experience. Such applicants will be required to pass the university of Guyana Entrance Examination.

Applicants who do not have the required pass grade in either English or Science or Maths, but who have five (5) other subjects which are acceptable for admission to the University of Guyana, may apply. Such applicants must successfully complete the relevant foundation course (English or Maths or Chemistry or Physics) being offered by the Institute of of Distance and Continuing Education (IDCE) or pass the relevant qualifying examination for entrance to the Faculty of Technology
