| Admission Criteria | Passes in at least five (5) subjects at the CSEC examinations
(Grades I, II or III). The five subjects must include Mathematics, English Language and Physics. OR Passes in at least five (5) subjects at the CSEC examinations
(Grades I, II or III), including Mathematics and English Language, plus a pass in the Pre-university Engineering Physics course (EPH 0312) offered by the FET. OR Pass in five (5) subjects at the CSEC examinations (Grades I, II or III), including Mathematics, English Language and Physics. A pass in one of the associated qualifying examinations offered by the University of Guyana may be used in place of one of these subjects. OR The G.T.E.E. Technician Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering. OR The G.T.E.E. Technician Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. OR The G.T.E.E. Technician Diploma in Electrical Engineering. OR The G.T.E.E. Diploma in Science. OR The G.T.E.E. Diploma in Land Surveying. OR Associate of Science (Civil Engineering) OR Associate of Science (Mechanical Engineering) OR Associate of Science (Electrical Engineering) OR Associate of Science (Petroleum Engineering) OR Associate of Science (Applied and Exploration Geology) OR Associate of Science (Architecture and Building Technology) OR The G.T.E.E. Technician Certificate in Building and Civil Construction Parts 1 and 2, or equivalent, provided that the equivalent programme includes the subject area, Mathematics, English Language, and Physics. OR Mature student (i.e. a minimum of 21 years in the calendar year in which entry is being sought) who do not meet any of the admission requirements will be required to write the University of Guyana Entrance Examination (UGEE) and pass to be considered for admission. OR Any application based on any other certificate(s), obtained locally or internationally, will be reviewed by the DCE through an Academic Advisor or the Head of Department (HOD) to determine if conditions mentioned above are met. OR Applicants with passes in at least five (5) subject areas of a recognized CSEC-equivalent programme. The five subjects must include Mathematics, English Language and Physics. Syllabi followed for these courses must share approximately 80 percent or more equivalency in content when referenced to the CSEC syllabi. Syllabi must be submitted as part of the application package. |
