| Admission Criteria | Applicant has Bachelor’s degree in Social Work awarded by the University of Guyana or a recognized University/Tertiary institution with an overall GPA of less than 2.7 but not lower than 2.5 (or equivalent ECTS standing); and a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the practice of social work. Applicant must also successfully complete an interview and a written assessment. OR Applicant has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work awarded by the University of Guyana or a recognized University/Tertiary institution, with an overall GPA of 2.7 or higher (or equivalent ECTS standing). Applicant must also successfully complete an interview and a written assessment. OR Applicant has a recognized Bachelor’s degree, outside of the discipline of social work but within the field of the social sciences/related academic discipline; with an overall GPA of not less than 2.7 (or equivalent ECTS standing), and a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the practice of social work or a related field; following the award of their undergraduate degree. Applicant must also successfully complete an interview and a written assessment. OR Applicant has a recognized Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or another Social Sciences/related academic discipline with an overall GPA of not less than 2.7 (or equivalent ECTS standing); is desirous of pursuing not more than an aggregate total of twelve (12) MSW/graduate credits with a maximum enrollment duration of one academic year, commencing from the date of their first enrollment as a special student. Applicant must also successfully complete an interview and a written assessment. OR Applicant has satisfied the conditions/requirements for admission to the MSW programme under the proviso/item, 6.4.1. of the MSW Transition Document, 2025. Applicant must also successfully complete an interview and a written assessment.
